Austin had another big day today and was overjoyed at the list of items discontinued, or removed from his body.
- chest tubes removed – check
- epinephrine discontinued – check
- rectal temperature probe removed – check (Austin was the most grateful for this one)
- Foley Catheter removed – check
- Austin promptly flooding his sleeping area after Foley Catheter
removed – check
Overall, Jeff (Dr. Pearl) was pleased with Austin’s progress, and we’re hoping by Independence Day to have Austin off the ventilator (a step needed so Mom and Dad can hold their baby).
Oh, how precious is that video! Austin is obviously very comfortable in front of a camera…I could see an acting career, perhaps!
Yay on all the things removed! What a wonderful sign that he’s well on his way to beginning his normal baby-boy life. How thrilling it will be for you, Barry and Karla, when you get to hold Austin. He’s soooo adorable!!!
Austin and you are being covered with prayer 24 hours a day. What a great God we have, and what a brave little guy He’s created in Austin! And…what wonderful parents He’s provided for him…altogether a wonderful family!
Love to all of you!
