Well, it was 3 weeks later than originally planned but we were finally able to bring our son home from the hospital. He has made great progess and is thrilled to be at home away from all the noise, constant light and needles. Our goal now is to fatten up our little one and get him healthy and safe to the next surgery.
Thank you all for the prayers and love that have gotten him and us this far. We couldn’t have done it without all our friends and family and the support you have given us. We feel truly blessed to have Austin in our lives and know that God has a plan for our family.
P.S. If you look real close, you can see Austin waving out of the top window.
We have been neurotically checking this blog for news of Austin’s homecoming. We finally got so anxious that we called Mason Lake for the exciting details straight from Grandma and Grandpa. We are so very thankful to hear that Austin is finally home where he can soak up your love and tender care- and play with his personal collection of toys. We will continue to lift your family up in prayer as you move along to the next step in Austin’s healing process. We just know that angels sent directly from Heaven are surrounding all of you, providing support and blanketing you with His love.
*We anxiously await pictures*
Welcome home, little man. I am sure your Mommy and Daddy are really excited to see you in your own room and to smell the new born smell that goes with you, little one.
What an miraculous adventure you have had so far and what an amazing adventure your life will be. Of course any adventure we take with the Lord is amazing.
Keep doing all the things that your parents tell you-hey they know the way. It really is cool to be obedient. It’s a God thing.

Hey guys,
Sure like what you’ve done with the ol homestead, looks different though somehow, must be the cool wheels you installed to make easier to go back and forth for Austins doctor visits! The Video looks great, that awake time is so fun and encouaging, I can really see how far he has come. I know when I was holding him the other day during his feeding he was awake for about an hour. All I could do was sit and stare at him and say silling baby stuff, he is such a miracle and it is entoxicating to watch him. It is wonderful to see how strong he is and hear he is getting some of his voice back. I hope you both know I’m always here for you and I’m willing to help in anyway I can. I hope to see you tonight for the 5:00 feeding, I need to practice more on my silly baby voice! Talk to ya later.
Love, Shelly

We just can’t stop thinking about you.
It sounds like prayers are being answered.
We hope you two are getting needed rest.
You’ll need endurance the next few months.
Now Austin, be like the rest of us and gain some weight.
Once you get the hang of eating, it goes well……for some of us too well.
