Austin had an exciting past couple of weeks and got a visit from two of his midwest cousins Kaelyn and Julia (and their moms). The girls were excited to meet their new cousin and would often wave to him while making a beeline out the back door for the pool.
On Monday Austin began to act a little fussier than normal and we found a curious little growth around his chest incision. After emailing a picture to the doctor it was off to the hospital where Austin got to spend a couple more days at his favorite resort. This time we started in the Pod-D where the accomadations were very familiar. A couple of days later we were moved to the fourth floor where we were fortunate enough to share a room with another little guy and their family. Although I reminded all hospital staff that passed by that our medical plan was a “PPO” as opposed to “HMO,” our lodging accomadations remained the same.
It turns out that Austin had a minor staph infection. After 4 days of antibiotics I am happy to report that Austin is doing much better and is currently hanging out at home watching a Chuck Norris marathon on cable. It always puts a smile on Austins face when Chuck delivers a roundhouse kick to a deserving criminal.

Hey guys,
We can’t wait to hold you to Austin. See you on the 28th. I’ll show you a thing or two on how to gain weight buddy.
Barry & Karla, we are looking forward to seeing you also. Keep up doing what ever it is you are doing.
All our love
Hey, we are so glad this was just a little bump and no big deal. Austin has had so much to deal with already. It would be nice for him to have smooth sailing and no more trips to the “resort”.
We are looking forward to meeting him this winter. Keep up the good spirits and updates. Thanks and our love to all of you…Jan and Bill
Dear Barry, Karla, and little Austin,
We have been reading your wonderful website with much interest and love for you 3. We are so sorry that dear little Austin has to go through all this trama. He couldn’t have been sent to two better parents it seems. I love your upbeat, positive approach.
Our prayers are with you. Your baby is so precious and quite handsome! But then, Barry, you were such a cute little boy full of smiles, fun, and mischief.
God bless and keep you all in His care.
Love, Chuck & Ramona
