It’s been a relatively quiet past week or so at the house of Cox. You know what they say. “No news is good news.” That is, unless the news is bad news. Then I guess no news would be bad news… Anyway, on to the “no news” that happens to be good news.
Austin continues to gain weight at a rapid pace (just like his Dad). Currently, Austin is weighing in at an intimidating 8lbs 6oz. It’s not uncommon for Austin to pack on a whopping 30 grams a day, putting a hurt on the Costco size baby formula that we keep stocked. The goal is still to get Austin to 12 pounds so he can make a trip back to “The Ritz” for his second surgery.
Today was the first day we attempted to feed Austin with the bottle. Austin gave it the “old college try,” or in other words his effort was minimal. My best guess is that he simply prefers his meals served through a tube.
Austin hams it up for the camera with a few smiles!

Dear Grandbaby Austin,
A month ago we could hardly wake you up to say “good-by”, but now just look at you keeping everyone entertained and waiting for your next trick. Nana and I can hardly stand it we are so proud and we are looking forward to seeing you in just two months.
We send our love to you and to your Mom and Dad, too.
Papa
Our prayers for Austin are being answered. We love seeing he has grown and his cute smile.
We are with Grandma and Grandpa today at Mason Lake. Our Children and Grandchildren will be here too.
Love,
Ed and Shirley
So happy to see that you’re keeping your mom and dad on their toes, Austin. You’re a cutie and we can’t wait to see you in October.
Love,
Jeannine and Harlow
WOW!!! What a charmer you have!!! Loved the video and the good news. We are both so-o-o-o happy to hear that Austin continues to thrive as he “beefs up” for “round #2″. From the looks of his bright eyes and BIG smile, he’s enjoying all the attention….. (Did we recognize the sounds of the toy on the video????) Will be in Scottsdale 8/25 to 9/5 and will call you then….
I’ve been watching this wonderful website regularly for updates on the adorable and charming little Austin Cox. The video today just melted my heart – he smiles, he sneezes, he yawns, he gives beguiling looks – what a delightful and special little guy!
I want you to know that Bruce and I (and I think I can speak for my Horton siblings too), are thinking of you often and always with the best thoughts and prayers for Austin to keep on improving and doing so well. It’s so great to see all the good progress reports about him, and words of the proud parents and relatives and friends, all sharing their love and support of this sweetie-pie!
Take Care. Love to all. Kandi
