Much to the delight of his parents, Austin was able to finally ween (I’m sure I spelled that wrong) himself off of oxygen this week. We have been working at it for the past couple of weeks, and today was the big day. We monitored Austins profusion levels, and even at his fussiest times his numbers remained strong.
Since Austin and I had no plans this evening we decided to take a stroll down to the park to take in the scene. Austin got all dudded up in a new outfit, fresh baby lotion, and even changed his Huggies before heading down, but unfortunately there were no dames Austins age to be found in the park. Oh well, Austin still had time to do a mini photo shoot since we were on location.

Austin – you are so handsome! Looks like you had a great time at the park. Tell your dad Happy Birthday for us!
Much love,
Crystal, Rupp, Connor and Keira
Sorry, we brought the Seattle weather with us. We sure enjoyed our time with you guys. Austin is so great to hold and was such a happy kid. I’m sure he is always happy with two great, attentive, loving parents to comfort him. Keep it up!
Happy Birthday Barry!
Thank you for having us.
Happiness is seeing such a handsome Grandson on our computer. Just wish we were there in person to watch you wow them at the park. Those babes know to keep their distance as you’re a real draw. Think of all the places you’ll be able to go without that oxygen tube and tank!
We’re sending all our love and hugs to you, and your Mommy and Daddy. We love you, Nana and Papa
P.S. Please tell your Daddy that his favorite spelling teacher says the word is “wean” although we all knew what he meant.
Austin,
We just wanted to say hi and tell you that we Love you.
Austin, Barry & Karla,
We just wanted to write a note to say hi. we can’t wait to see you again. Also, I just wanted to say GO SEAHAWKS!
Today it’s officially your “3 Month Birthday” Austin…. and WHAT AN ADVENTURE IT’S BEEN SO FAR!!! You’ve logged in 10,058 hits on this blog, so it’s obvious that you’ve captured ALOT of hearts during the past 90 days.
You’ve also grown MUCH stronger and healthier under the loving care of your Mommy and Daddy. You ditched the oxygen on September 4, and we hear today that you’ve now officially ditched the feeding tube too. This is all GREAT NEWS!!!
We continue to lift you up in prayer, asking God to wrap you and your very special family in a blanket of His love.
Just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed spending time with Austin and Karla a couple of weeks ago. (It was nice meeting Barry too.) What a sweet little boy you have. May the Lord continue to heal and strenghthen Austin’s heart. (I am sure he has big plans for that little guy! )
The women at Highland’s church are loving the opportunity to hold, feed, and rock Austin. I feel honored and blessed to have met your family and wish you the best. I will continue to keep Austin in my prayers. Love, Vickie Good
Austin is looking so handsome and strong! We think of you all so often and continue to pray for Austin every day! Wish we could hug all of you.
